St. Walter is committed to using technology in the classrooms. Each classroom is equipped with multiple computers for teacher and student use allowing all grade levels to have computer access. The school is connected to the Internet by high-speed data connection.
The computer lab has 32 Hp Pentium 4 desktops with 17" LCD flat screen monitors. The operation system is Windows 7. Each computer can print to a high speed Xerox printer. In addition, the computer lab has a projector and Smartboard, for teacher demonstrations and instruction. Several classrooms are equipped with Smartboard with built-in projector, Digital camera, camcorder and scanner.
The Media Center is also equipped with several laptops and 30 iPads on a cart.

Microsoft office 2013; Microsoft Publisher 2013; Kidspiration 3; TimeLiner; Mathletics Site license; Type to Learn 4; Wordmunchers; Renaissance Place - Accelerated Reader; Accelerated Math; Star Early Literacy; Star Reading; etc.
Students from grades Kn through 8 have computer class at least 4 times per week while Pre-K comes once a week for 25 minutes. The students learn basic computer skills and various software applications to help them complete the classroom assignments. Each grade level practices keyboarding using several online resources and TTL4 software which are aligned with the common core standards.
The St. Walter library utilizes a web-based card catalog (Follett Destiny) for students to search through over 8000 books.
No matter what grade level your child is at St. Walter they are always continuing to build upon their computer proficiency skills and using technology to enhance their learning and development. We take special interest in training our students to become responsible and smart digital citizens.
